I trying to understand a chart that has north node sag 28 / south node gemini and the skipped step jupiter (20) venus (24) degrees virgo in the 4th house. How would you interpet this?
In general we aren't interpreting specific charts here on the basis that it's necessary to see all signatures in total context with the chart and that we need to observe the personal reality of the soul before jumping into interpretation.
So what I can offer in terms of support is to address these signatures in a purely archetypal sense for the sake of practicing with skipped step signatures stripped of context to evolutionary stage etc.
My invitation to you is, working with the EA teachings on skipped steps, to make your attempt at working out this signature. I'd suggest to to just keep it to Jupiter for now (to make the practice easier) and take out Venus.
I saw you posted twice and in the other post you referenced this as a client's chart, so I know you are doing readings. Though I don't know how familiar you are with applying the EA teachings. If you feel ready to make an effort, give it a shot and I'll help you along. The first step would be to clarify the specific houses of the nodes.
I also suggest you review the EA teachings on working out skipped steps and the teachings on the resolution node as well. This can be found in searching the archived forum. Let me know if you need my help in locating some of that content.
I now understand the context of the message board. I will adjust my question now.
I am working with a chart has a jupter/venus skipped step and the resolution node is south node in gemini (conjuct juno and mars) in the 12th house. My understanding of this is that this person was flipping between gemini and sag and now has to go back to the gemini archetype to develop this in a new way. My sense is that it is about bringing spiritual impulses, teaching or perhaps the person's spiritual marriage (12th house juno?) into a new level of expression to then be able to move forward to their north node in Sag.
What I am not understanding is what role the Jupiter/Venus or in your suggestion just the Jupiter plays a role in this situation. Is the skipped step itself part of HOW the person can bring the south node forward into a new way? If this is the case, woud this mean that through expanding their belief system and how they value themselelves through emotional self reliance (4th house) be the HOW in supporting their evolution?
I can offer this. Something that a lot of people don't recall when dealing with interpreting Jupiter is that so often it's not just about beliefs, but also about TRUTH. Truth is very different.
Jupiter and Venus are naturally connected through the zodiac in a YOD (Sagittarius, Libra, and Taurus). What I see often when there is a dynamic like the one you speak of is that someone is needing to RECOVER their personal TRUTHS because old conditioned/learned beliefs that are impacting their inner relationship to self (Taurus/Venus).
If this is in the 4th house and in Virgo, this could be beliefs that perpetuate crisis and a lack of inner security because they have become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If I am told I am a POS my whole life, then I might, depending on my stage of evolution, make that a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The actual TRUTH (Sagittarius/Jupiter) is that one is not a POS and HAS WORTH. So that can be what needs to be worked on; beliefs versus truths about oneself.
Is the skipped step itself part of HOW the person can bring the south node forward into a new way?
It reflects what the karmic issue is as well as how to resolve the issue. Both. The issue being reflected in the nodal axis and the skipped step planets (along with rulers of both). As a result, with the SN being the resolution node, the soul will be integrating the entire square complex: (the squaring planet and the NN) through the SN. And in that sense absolutely doing the SN in a new way.
I'll set up the main signatures and then invite you to make your best effort at working them out if you so desire. Again I'm choosing to keep this simplified with only these three symbols for now for the sake of learning. Also aware I am not applying evolutionary stage, so I'm being very generic.
The SN in Gemini in the 12th corresponds to a soul who has been developing a lot of knowledge about a lot of things, seeking to learn about the interconnection and interrelationship between many things - sometimes it all making sense and sometimes all the data and information not quite connecting. Thus this SN in general can speak to both a sense of spiritual knowledge, open mindedness, an innocence of thinking, and also the possibility to access "thoughts" from non-physical realms, as well as the possibility of scatteredness, lack of discrimination and discernment relative to what information to let in and what not, what to believe, what is true etc. There can be issues of massive confusion and disarray/loss of meaning relative to nothing clicking or making sense, or trying to make meaning out of reality entirely through the logical faculties which ultimately leads to disillusionment when more data or information comes in and knocks down the sand castle.
This NN corresponds to an ongoing evolutionary growth to develop one's intuition: being an apprentice of one's intuition/ of natural law. This means cultivating discernment etc. and developing a philosophical bottom line for one's work so that all the pieces can make sense and can be put into service in a helpful and useful way.
With a planet squaring both nodes, BOTH nodes are unresolved. So we have to understand the NN in Sag in the 6th in this way as well. Challenges with Sag in the 6th could be issues of control/perfectionism linked to ideologies/ beliefs systems that induce an inner sense of inferiority. Also making mistakes relative to belief systems that distort what is natural, and the subsequent guilt relative to those mistakes. 6th house also corresponds to slave/master or inferiority/superiority dynamics and lessons of true humility. So we can have issues of manifesting in roles such as a servant or slave and adopting patriarchal religious distortions about God/nature that kept them alienated from their own natural ways.
If this is the case, would this mean that through expanding their belief system and how they value themselves through emotional self reliance (4th house) be the HOW in supporting their evolution?
Yes in that this is about their belief system and how they have formed an inner image of themselves, who they known themselves to be. Uncovering their own nature, uncovering their own intuitive and natural way of being. Instead of emotional self reliance (self-reliance being a more Taurus word) the phrase I'd suggest is emotional honesty/ authenticity (Jupiter in the 4th). Relative to Virgo, what Jordyn wrote is really helpful for understanding that.
So the question now to ask is: what is the issue that this soul has been flip flopping between both of those nodes relative to Jupiter in Virgo in the 4th. First connect with the issues and only then try to apply the resolution node.
I know you are new to this, so don't worry about getting it right. Just give it a shot and any efforts is valuable. Feel free to ask any more questions that you need to as well.
