Hello All,
I just wanted to mention for anyone who is a student of EA that Deva's book as mentioned in the title of this post is really helpful. I've been studying EA for 5 years and have been a practicing astrologer (full time) for 2. This book is invaluable along with her book on the Moon and nodes. I just want to convey this because in the past I really struggled to simplify without generalizing. I would either over generalize or go way deep and it wasnt beneficial if someone was getting a reading from me. Deva has this gift of simplification without generalizing. Even through her words in her books it teaches me how to do that with clients. It's so important to be able to communicate in a way that is beneficial to those who come and see me or any of us. Or else I might not be able to help if I can't communicate in an understandable way.
If you are someone who wants to convey the "meat and potatoes" to clients or just to have a more simplified but deep understanding of EA, I don't think you can go wrong with her books. Every time I pick them up it always makes me think of this and I felt compelled to share in case anyone else has had the same issues.
I also don't see her books talked about very often especially the one in the title of this post. It goes over the basics and then some. It helps with understanding the archetypes succinctly, in my opinion. I just thought I would share for those who are wanting to study EA or become an astrologer.
Much love and gratitude,
Jordyn
HI Jordyn,
Just wonderful that you have taken the time to say this about Deva's books. As the daughter of JWG she of course knows EA inside and out. And, as you say, she has her own unique way of teaching and presenting EA itself.
Here are the links to her books:

Hi Jordyn,
Yes, I absolutley agree. Deva's books are IDEAL companions to the Pluto books. She has osmosed the EA material in total, and teaches this work in a clear and direct way that allows for an ease of integration.
I highly recommend both of her books to help strengthen the foundation of understanding EA. Both books are a must have in the EA library, for those immersing themselves in this work.
Of course the Moon, and its Nodes, are so integral to the EA paradigm, and how we are all emotionally living within ourselves from a moment to moment bases, and how this allows for evolution itself, " we evolve through the emotional body", Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.
Thank you for reminding others of this invaluable resource.
Namaste,
Kristin
Hi Jordyn,
Thank you for recommending Deva’s two books as a trustworthy reference for any aspiring
EA astrologer. Everything you say is so true, especially Deva’s gift for making EA so
accessible and applicable when analyzing charts, easing what oftentimes can be a very
intricate and complex task. One thing I wanted to make a special point of noting is about
“The Moon and Its Nodes in Evolutionary Astrology” book: Beyond detailing each lunar
archetype and SN/NN nodal combinations with her characteristic intuitive sensitivity and
comprehensive grasp, each archetype’s lunar operation is described in distinctive detail
through the three evolutionary states as are the lunar nodes by house and sign. To my
knowledge this is the first compendium of its kind on this subject, proving its own weight in gold as a must in any EA library.
Just to give an idea of how useful Deva’s insights can be, following is an excerpt for the
Moon’s SN in Sagittarius and NN in Gemini for the Spiritual State:
“In the Spiritual State, the South Node in Sagittarius/9th house will manifest as a prior life
selfimage and emotional structure that is based upon alignment with natural, timeless,
principles as reflected in the manifested Creation. Intuitive knowledge of natural laws
coming into the life is symbolized.
The individual will need emotional freedom and space to discover their personal truth
through union with the Source. For example, the individual could desire to spiritually
develop through being alone in nature because it provides the freedom to discover and
connect with the natural laws directly. In some cases, this can be expressed as “Nature is my church.”
The Soul’s personal emotional truth is rooted in universal, timeless laws. These Souls will
commonly be perceived as a teacher by others because of this knowledge. The Soul will then motivate others to discover their personal truths through direct experience of natural,
universal principles as reflected in the totality of Creation. In other words, it inspires others
to become their own “inner teacher” through developing this emotional connection with
God/dess.
In the Spiritual State, the North Node in Gemini/3rd house will manifest as an evolving
emotional structure that is based upon the need to collect information, view points, and data that are centered upon timeless, universal principles.
The Soul will desire to continue to spiritually develop through the intake of information from a diversity of sources within a spiritual community and/or accepted spiritual authorities. In
so doing, the individual will expand upon heir existing knowledge base. This facilitates the
emotional shift from the subjective personal truth to timeless, or universal truth.
For example, the Soul could demonstrate that there are a diversity of ways to express natural laws as reflected in a variety of spiritual teachings, writings and practices which advocate
unity in diversity. In other words, in the best expression these Souls can become powerful
communicators of the intrinsic truth that there is no “one way” for all; and encourage others to embrace whatever path is most aligned with their personal truth. The pull towards the
future is felt by these areas.”
Speaks for itself!
