I thought I had posted on this subject while on the road...but I don't see my post so I guess I didn't. If I did, forgive me for the duplication. I came across a situation that raised soul purpose questions, and I really just want to see if anyone has studied this subject, and if there are any feelings one way or another about the issue.
A relative through marriage discovered that she was conceived as the result of IVF (in vitro fertilization) . For reasons of privacy I won't share the whole chart. When I looked at the chart knowing the involvement of IVF, some points jumped out as relevant. For instance:
Neptune (in Cap) is on the IC.
SN in Virgo in 12, NN Pisces in 6
Mercury/Saturn/Sun/Uranus in Sag in 3, intersecting the Nodal Axis
Chiron in Gemini in 9 exactly opposite Uranus (as well as closely opposing the rest of the Sag stellium)
Moon/Pluto/Mars conjunct in Scorpio in house 2, Mars ruling the 8th.
Without getting into the life story of the individual, I think it is interesting that her conception is so clearly manifested in the birth chart - at least it is to me. Being a mother myself, I have never really been inclined to study conception charts. After reviewing this chart and these circumstances, I'm even more inclined to see conception reflected in the birth chart. First and foremost would be angular Neptune in the house of family history ruling the NN in 6. Mercury in Sag, ruling the Virgo SN in 12 is part of that 3d house Sag stellium. This tells me that the past would include a secret medical procedure (Virgo) - likely with a student (Mercury in Sag in 3). Then there is Uranus opposite Chiron, both square the Nodes. (Uranus is a short distance from Neptune in the next sign and house) and Moon conjunct Pluto/Mars - mom dominating destiny by taking matters into her own hands?
The individual discovered this secret when she received a 23&Me DNA kit as a gift, and 5 half siblings popped up! That was 4 years ago and she hadn't broached the subject with her mother until recently when she decided she wanted to conceive herself. Tr. Neptune is now in her 6th squaring the 3rd house stellium. When I heard the story, I didn't feel comfortable asking for the dates that she discovered the facts from half siblings online (3rd house) hailing from all over the West .
As I'm writing this, Tr. SN in Scorpio is on her natal Pluto, an especially good reason to pay attention to privacy and ensure this remains anonymous.
This whole story leaves my EA instincts wanting to know if anyone has studied IVF births from an astrological perspective, and if anyone has any thoughts about what, if anything, this issue says about the individual, as well as past and future generations (including the mystery donor who the 3rd house stellium half siblings say is purposefully staying out of sight).
You are correct about the thousands of souls with similar charts. That's the point of my comment. Some years ago I noticed that Jupiter was prominent in the chart of a recently passed friend. I was shocked, since I thought of Jupiter as good luck and bounty, not death. So I began looking at a lot of death charts and noticed prominent Jupiters in most of them. That said something important about death that I hadn't considered: A long journey, faith, perhaps over confidence. Notwithstanding that hundreds of thousands of souls likely leave Earth on a daily basis, the observation that Jupiter was prominent in death charts warranted study. Turns out others noticed this fact too. And the issue is still a subject of astrological conversation. I imagine that Jeff Greene, who shared his thoughts on my chart with me many decades ago, could not have come to his spiritual conclusions without verification based upon real life observations. That I set forth positions of the planets doesn't mean I overlooked them. Moon/Pluto/Mars carries a powerful message, as does Neptune in the 4th at the midpoint of the Nodal Axis. My intention was to share a chart with experienced astrologers for comment limited to chart aspects.
Hi Diana,
EA teaches that all Souls choose, and are responsible for, the conditions for each life that they create for themselves. Thus, a Soul choosing to be born relative to IVF has it's own evolutionary and karmic reasons for doing so.
We need to remember too that there are roughly 385,000 babies born every day on Earth. Thus, the astrological symbols at any given moment in time symbolize and reflect not only it's evolutionary past but also the reasons for the current life. Each Soul has it's own individual context upon which the EA symbols in their chart have their specific meaning: the reasons why for those symbols.
They symbols you have mentioned for the person who was born via IVF reflect archetypes that do correlate with the conditions that it has chosen to be born through and into for it's own EA and karmic reasons. Each symbol in EA, Virgo or any other symbol for example, has a spectrum of archetypes within them. It is the specific individual Soul context that is the determinant of what archetypes it is actualizing in any given life that correlate to it's ongoing evolutionary and karmic journey.
God Bless, Rad
