New to the subject and am currently working through the 1st segment. Question about the phases chart drawn on the whiteboard by JWG in videos 4/5/6. Has anyone done a blank of this with labels, aspects, degrees etc? Also relating to the step by step protocol JWG suggested be used to do chart interpretations to ensure nothing is missed in the process. Has anyone done such a protocol?
An understanding of the archetypes seems critical to the interpretation so is there a list of keywords/phrases that are specific to AE or can one utilitise existing esoteric 'qualities' for such descriptions? Are the two compatible, ie interchangeable and relevant, or are there things in esoteric astrology that don't apply to the soul in EA?
Thanks for any advise, links, references to books etc. I am still waiting for a number of books to arrive, ordered but where I live in Australia is a bit off the normal Christmas mailing routes :-).

I can only tell you what I have been doing and maybe that can help? I keep moving one step forward and two steps back and I’ve just accepted that it’s going to be a very long yet fruitful journey. I have had to go back to each archetype using the transcript of the dvds (I printed it) and the Pluto book. If I get stuck, I research the forum, buy a book on that archetype.. I do some chart interpretations almost daily to practice or find the archetypes I’m studying. I like to explain the archetype to some people I know so that I understand it better. Then I keep rereading over and over whatever material I feel stuck on and I just follow my own void and trust that it’ll come together when it has to. Some of the EA astrologers on the forum have their own classes and they also do some tutoring which could be helpful.
I would say unless it’s specified that it’s a planetary node (which is more advanced and I won’t get to those in a while, but it’s good to have an idea) then it’s probably a lunar node (which is a fundamental in EA).
Some of the words can be used to describe two different signs sometimes but it starts to make sense once you start getting the energies down. I wish I could think of an example but I’ve had it happen a few times. Most of the time I’ve just misunderstood something. Like I thought objective thinking was Gemini but it’s actually Aquarius. The mixup comes from the air trinity. So knowing the trinities, m/f energies, modalities is super important and I think this is the only place I use esoteric astro to help me find how the archetypes were formed. Oh and I really love researching the natural zodiac because it makes all the archetypes make sense. Like there’s a natural square between 7 and 10 which explains a lot of libra and Capricorns energies.
I don’t know if this is helpful, I’m still figuring it out myself but hopefully you get something out of it! It’s overwhelming in the beginning but once you zoom in a bit it gets super exciting, and eventually you’ll look back and realize you’ve actually come quite far. :)
