Hello!
The last quarter square reflects a moment where we are pushed to throw off the precedent of the past, retaining the essence, refining and universalizing the message for a wider audience or context. If i understand correctly, this should correlate to the Capricorn archetype, the 270 square between Aries and Capricorn. I am having trouble understanding how the Capricorn archetype is associated with throwing off the known, “throwing off the known” feels more of an Aquarian call to action.
Compared to the first quarter square, which is the 90 degrees between Aries and Cancer, which makes more sense to me. We are called to make a brave decision to share something that emerged, to birth something, that we’ve been cultivating, and can can feel stressed about sharing it with the world, in fear that it will be misunderstood or that we’ll be consumed by its ego or loose our own Aries innate - emergence - freedom.
How does the Aries archetype become stressed by the Capricorn archetype? It seems to me that its not about anything Capricorn, but more Aquarian. Is comparing the phases like this to the zodiac signs a good way to understand? Or perhaps I have misunderstood something?
Thanks so much for any reflections,
Julianne
Hi Julianne,
Thanks for posting your question. From my understanding, the last quarter square correlates to the Aquarius archetype. As JWG taught, the last quarter square corresponds to the creative tension/stress relative to the Soul having learned all there is learn about how society is structured and operates (following the disseminating phase which can be linked with the Capricorn archetype) and the need to liberate/decondition from those societal norms. The last quarter phase symbolizes the need to throw off the belief systems of the consensus in order to expand consciousness and embrace universal truths- not limited by any belief system. The following phase is the Balsamic phase which symbolizes the need to bring to completion the entire evolutionary cycle started at the new phase. The balsamic phase correlates to to the Pisces archetype.
Yes, you can correlate the phases to archetypes but there are only 8 primary phases but not al the archetypes are included. For example, the New Phase correlates to the Aries archetype, and the Crescent Phase correlates to the Taurus archetype. From my understanding, the First quarter phase correlates to the Gemini archetype as it is crisis in action-the Soul can try on many different hats so to speak to find out which one most perfectly fits. The under;lying stress in the first quarter square is a fear of failure, and of sliding back into old patterns. Gibbous Phase correlates the the Virgo archetype, and the Full Phase correlates to Libra archetype. Let me know if this makes sense.
Namaste,
