Hi there, in thinking about the zodiacal archetype for decay a few signs come to mind - I would think Pisces (End of the line before "ultimate" death), but Capricorn (time-based process of decay) and Scorpio (the rot of evil, and the alchemical process of fermentation and/or putrefaction) also seem to have their own particular relevance for the process/concept of decay.
I'm curious to know what zodiacal archetype would rule decay as far as the EA paradigm is concerned?
Many thanks,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Pisces is not a process of decay but rather a dissolving influence. The concept is best aligned with the archetypes of Scorpio and Capricorn.
Makes sense! Thanks, Rose.
In the Evolutionary Astrology (EA) paradigm, Scorpio is the archetype that would rule decay. Scorpio is associated with transformation, death, rebirth, and the cycles of decay and regeneration. This is because Scorpio is the sign of the zodiac associated with the 8th house, traditionally known as the house of death and rebirth. Scorpio's energy is intense and transformative, and it is often associated with breaking down old structures and patterns to make way for new growth and transformation. Scorpio's energy can be seen as breaking down and releasing old in the context of decay.
There is no such concept as "Zodiacal Rulership of Decay" in traditional Western astrology. The concept of rulership in astrology assigns certain planets to each zodiac sign based on their characteristics and qualities. For example, the Sun is the ruler of Leo, which is associated with creativity, self-expression, and leadership.
Astrology is generally focused on understanding and interpreting the energies and influences of the planets and their movements about the zodiac signs. While decay may be associated with specific planetary energies, such as the Saturnian energy of time and aging, no specific zodiac sign or ruler is associated with decay in traditional astrology.
